The Hightower has been around for a while now and the 2023 version comes with a few subtle changes. Santa Cruz describes it by saying, "It's a mountain bike. The mid-length travel and confidence-inspiring geometry mean anywhere tires will roll, then so will this bike. No fussing, no nonsense, no silly category names."

The Santa Cruz Megatower
This is a downhill bike that goes everywhere. Seriously. Santa Cruz says, "The Megatower’s big wheels, long travel, and tough carbon fibre chassis delivers the high-speed security traits of a downhill bike. Since 2001, Santa Cruz has been using a Virtual Pivot Point, or VPP™, suspension design to bring you the best balance of pedaling efficiency and all-out bump-chomping prowess available, all while being extremely tough and reliable. How does it work?

In a nutshell, VPP™ utilises two links that rotate in opposite directions, creating a "virtual" pivot point, or instant centre, that moves throughout the suspension travel, dictating the rear wheel's axle path. This virtual pivot makes this design highly tuneable, allowing them to deliver the exact riding characteristics they want, depending on the application—ensuring you're left with the best riding experience, no matter what Santa Cruz bicycle you're riding.
